Editorial Week-In-Review


Well, not really a blog full of a lot of different stories this week, as I spent the week trying to recover from Preakness and catch up on editing weddings.

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009 - Baltimore, Maryland: Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas' Preakness horse Flying Private grazes outside of the stable at Pimlico race track. Lukas had his horses, Flying Private and Luv Gov, jog around Pimlico early Wednesday morning. The pair shipped in from Churchill Downs Tuesday, a van ride that took about 12 hours.

The ownership group of Jess Jackson’s Stonestreet Stable and Harold T. McCormick paid the $100,000 supplemental entry fee to make her eligible for the Triple Crown races. She will be the 53rd filly to run in the Middle Jewel of the Triple Crown, the fifth in the last 70 years and the first since Excellent Meeting in 1999.
